CONABIO compiles and generates information on biodiversity, developing human capacities in the area of ​​biodiversity informatics - providing knowledge accessible to all of society. CONABIO serves as a bridge between academia, government and the society.

CONABIO coordinates actions and studies related to the knowledge and preservation of biological species. We promote and encourage scientific research activities for exploration, study, protection and utilisation aimed at preserving the country's ecosystems biological resources, generating criteria for their sustainable management.

CONABIO contributes directly to Aichi Biodiversity Targets 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20.
