Bilateral Agencies
The following bilateral agencies have been accredited by the GCF Board as its agencies to help eligible governments and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to develop, implement, and execute their projects.
The Agence Française de Développement (AFD) The AFD is mandated to contribute to social and economic development through sustainable and inclusive growth, enhancing livelihoods and natural resource management. With operations in more than 90 developing countries across all regions, AFD is actively engaged in global environmental actions across all sectors.
The Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency (LuxDev) LuxDev is Luxembourg’s bilateral development cooperation agency, primarily responsible for implementing the country’s development cooperation policy. Its areas of focus include agriculture, food security, natural resource management, water, health, microfinance, and renewable energy.
The Austrian Development Agency (ADA Austria) The ADA serves as the operational unit of Austrian Development Cooperation, managing and financing international development projects on behalf of the Government of Austria. ADA focuses on key thematic areas including economic development, education, environmental and climate protection, gender equality, peace and human security, human rights and migration, as well as water, energy, and food security.
Cassa Depositi e Prestiti S.p.A. (CDP) The CDP works together with the main players in Italian Cooperation: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), the Ministry for the Economy and Finance (MEF) and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and finance initiatives with high economic, environmental and social impact in strategic sectors.
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH The GIZ offers the following services: advice; human capacity development; network and dialogue management as well as mediation; and management and logistics, in all sectors relevant to sustainable development.
Enabel, formerly the Belgian Technical Cooperation (BTCCTB) Enabel is the development agency of the Federal Government of Belgium and implements Belgium’s international development policy. Enabel's main activities include the preparation, provision of advice and guidance, identification, development and implementation of projects/programmes and interventions.
