Mechanisms for Implementation

Communities of Practice Webinar Series

Introduction

Through decision 16/13 , adopted at the 16th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Secretariat was requested to organize a series of webinars focused on mainstreaming across various sectors. These webinars aim to convene sector-specific communities of practice for the exchange of lessons learned. This webinar series will bring together partners and experts from a variety of backgrounds to share best practices, existing tools, solutions, guidance and innovative practices that support biodiversity mainstreaming within and across sectors.

The sectors explored through these webinars will focus in particular on those already covered in previous decisions of the Conference of the Parties.

These include:

  • Energy and Mining
  • Infrastructure
  • Manufacturing and Processing
  • Agriculture
  • Forestry
  • Fisheries and Aquaculture
  • Tourism
  • Circular Economy
  • Subnational Governments and Local Authorities
  • Metrics and Disclosures

Future webinars will be announced here and through the CBD Meetings page , and will be held online via Microsoft Teams. A calendar will be posted here once the webinar schedule becomes available. Once completed, webinars will also be posted in the CBD Youtube page .
