Setting broad but relevant governance that are also specific to addressing the governance issues over 'island biodiversity'in SIDS, is instrumental in providing guidance to countries, especially where implementation of the POWIB at the country level, are concerned.

Not only in the country level, but also in the local level where many initiatives on island biodiversity conservation are happening but where many national laws concerning protection of island biodiversity are not enforced.
