The Natural History Museum of Paris celebrated the International Day for Biological Diversity by providing access to many of the CBD's online resources through their website. They also sent an email through their list serve, to their many partners, which contained the messages of the Executive Secretary of the CBD and the Secretary General of the UN, as well as the PDF version of the CBD’s information booklet.

The Ministry of Ecology, Development and Sustainable Management, to celebrate the International Day for Biological Diversity, prepared a ground fresco, “Grasslands and Their High Biodiversity,” which will be displayed in the entrance hall of their offices until 6 June. The fresco, enhanced by patches of natural grassland, flowers and animal sounds, has attracted several hundred visitors and is greatly enjoyed by both adult and children alike. More information

The Working Group on Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group organized a conference on Biological Diversity and Climate Change, which took place on 7 May 2007 at the Bundestag. As the United Nations declared that the theme for IBD this year would be "Biodiversity and Climate Change," and following the international discussions between the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the CBD, participants were invited to discuss and analyze the interlinkages between biodiversity and climate.
