Invasive Alien Species

Workshop on invasive alien species for Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America and the Caribbean

The workshop was by the Secretariat of the Convention, in collaboration with the International Union for Conservation of Nature and the Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and with the generous support of the Government of Denmark, the European Union and the Government of Japan

The goal of the training course was to support Parties in achieving the implementation of Target 6 of the Framework on invasive alien species, provide an overview of available tools and guidance on invasive alien species and identify the capacities and needs of Parties in the region with respect to implementing Target 6.

Training course for Pacific small island developing States on invasive alien species 15-17 July 2025, Apia, Samoa

The Training course was co-organised by the Secretariat of the Convention, in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme  and the International Union for Conservation of Nature and with generous support from the Governments of Denmark, Japan and the European Union. 

The goal of the training course was to share information on tools and resources available to support countries in addressing Target 6, as well as on sharing lessons learned from the sub-region.
