Article 26 of the Convention states that the objective of national reporting is to provide information on measures taken for the implementation of the Convention and the effectiveness of these measures. More »

In decision X/10, the Conference of the Parties requested Parties to submit their fifth national report by 31 March 2014, as an important source of information for a mid-term review of progress towards the implementation of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 and progress towards the Aichi Biodiversity Targets, undertaken by the Conference of the Parties at its twelfth meeting in October 2014. The fifth national reports have also contributed to the development of the fourth edition of the Global Biodiversity Outlook. Further, the fifth national report guidelines request Parties to report on contributions to the relevant 2015 Targets of the Millennium Development Goals. More »

Peer review of draft guidelines for sixth national report

In response to recommendation 1/10 of the Subsidiary Body on Implementation, the draft reporting guidelines, templates and resource manual for the sixth national reports are available for peer review until 1 July 2016 (see the notification).
Comments, preferably in tracked changes or as comments inserted in the documents, should be sent to secretariat@cbd.int. Following the peer review, the draft reporting guidelines, templates and resource manual will be revised and made available for consideration by the Conference of the Parties at its thirteenth meeting.
