International community must work together to achieve a sustainable, low-carbon livestock industry

According to FAO, more than half the world's rural poor are livestock farmers and pastoralists. The livestock sector is a mainstay for food security and rural livelihoods and the international community must work together to make sure it achieves its potential contributions to sustainable development, said FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva.
