The dreadful consequences of global warming are here to stay as weather patterns across the Himalayan region will undergo rapid climatic changes that are lethal for the biodiversity and human species. The up and down sequences of monsoons, snowfall and cold weather seem irreversible according to leading research by Dr Sandeepan Mukherjee, a weather scientist at GB Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment and Sustainable Development based at Kosi in Almora.
