Millions of people are facing starvation because of the pandemic, conflict, economic crises and extreme weather. A joint report by the United Nations, the European Union and other humanitarian agencies said 155 million people in 55 countries faced crisis-level food insecurity in 2020, 20 million more than in 2019 and the highest figure in five years.
