I am pleased to inform Parties, international agencies, indigenous and local community representatives and other stakeholders, that thanks to the generous financial support from the Government of Spain, a regional capacity building workshop for indigenous and local community representatives on effective participation in the CBD processes, with a specific focus on the Working Groups on Article 8(j) and ABS , will be held in Montreal, Canada, from 29-31 October, 2009, prior to the sixth meeting of the Working Group on Article 8(j) and related provisions (2-6 November) and the eighth meeting of the Working Group on ABS (9-15 November).
