I am pleased to announce the launching of the new Convention website (http://www.biodiv.org) which has been re-designed to facilitate searching, locating and retrieving of information. In addition, the Secretariat, in its re-design of the CBD website, adhered to commonly used information formats, protocols and standards with a view to improve on its interoperability and sharing of data with other Conventions, organizations and research institutions.
