The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), in collaboration with the Chair of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA) of the Convention, is convening a brainstorming meeting on the impact of the highly pathogenic avian influenza virus on wildlife. The meeting is to be held on 19 March 2006 in Curitiba, Brazil, at the Expo Trade Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Chair of the SBSTTA will present the results of the meeting to the 8th meeting of the CBD Conference of the Parties, starting on 20 March 2006.
