Some CBD Parties have federal systems of government, in which power is divided between a central government and state, territorial or provincial governments. Sub-national governments carry out various activities relevant to CBD implementation. Some have developed their own sub-national biodiversity strategies and action plans. This event will provide an opportunity to examine and compare experiences in sub-national implementation across a number of jurisdictions.
