Biotechnology as a Toolbox to Study and Monitor Agricultural Genetic Resources

The event is a seminar aimed at increasing awareness about the potential role that biotechnologies can play in the characterization and conservation of agricultural genetic resources and about FAO's activities in this area. The seminar will include a presentation on the use of molecular markers to preserve fish biodiversity; one on the use molecular markers to monitor forest tree adaptation and migration; and one on FAO's activities in this area.
