Meeting
Ninth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 9)

A side event to present the final summary of 22 independent monitoring reports on the implementation of the Expanded Programme of Work on Forest Biodiversity of the CBD in 22 different countries. The event will elaborate on the main lessons learned, the success stories of countries and territories where forest biodiversity loss was halted, and the obstacles and failures identified in those countries that failed to implement the Expanded Programme of Work on Forest Biodiversity. It will also be explored how the Convention can become more instrumental in halting the loss of the earth' most biodiverse terrestrial ecosystem. The event will start with a number of short presentations after which participants will be asked for feedback on the reports.
