Date and Time
26 October 2010 13:15 - 14:45

Meeting
Tenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 10)

Japanese approaches (experiences and techniques) for harmonizing development and biodiversity will be presented to formulate agreements on the Revised Strategic Plan of the Convention. Japan has experienced environmental problems caused by rapid development, and has solved them through various efforts such as land management policy, mitigations in large-scale development projects, nature restoration projects, and techniques accumulated in construction industry. We will provide these Japanese biodiversity-conscious approaches (experiences and techniques) to foreign countries including developing countries where much development will take place to realize harmony between human beings and nature (panel discussion style).
