Tenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 10)

At this side event organised by DIVERSITAS and UNEP, leading scientists will look ahead towards 2020 and beyond, and propose a new framework for efficient indicators and targets: - that places biodiversity in a socioeconomic/ecological framework, following up on outcome of the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, - that is based on the best emerging science-based evidence on the relationship between biodiversity, ecosystem services and human wellbeing. - that considers the consequences of national actions for the global public good and - that establishes priorities between red (biosecurity), green (conservation) and blue (sustainable development) targets according to their primary motivation.
