Date and Time

Meeting
Eleventh meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 11)
The IUCN's World Conservation Congress, the highest decision-making body of the Union, took place in the island of Jeju, Republic of Korea, from 6-15 September, 2012. Hundreds of events were held during these days featuring numerous issues of interest to the environmental community. IUCN carried forward a mapping exercise to evidence the links between the workshops carried out during the Forum at the Congress and the Aichi Targets. This "matrix" and its analysis will be presented at this side event. IUCN nominated a number of "Aichi Target Champions" right after the Strategic Plan was adopted. These people- IUCN staff, Commission members, Councilors and others - volunteered to contribute through their work to implementing the Aichi Biodiversity Targets and are called to report back regularly on their activities. Some of these "Champions" will be present in Hyderabad and will share their experiences in an informal way at this side event. Join us and share your own "Champion" story!
