Eleventh meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 11)

This event will serve to inform participants to the 11th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the CBD about the achievements of Swiss and other European cities to enhance the understanding of the relationship between urban biodiversity, and its ecological, social values and economic values for urban life. It will promote the exchange of knowledge and best practices that can contribute to conserve and manage biodiversity and ecosystems and increase the resilience of cities. In addition, the event will raise awareness and demonstrate the economic and social value of ecosystems services for the well-being of urban populations. Considering the diversity of participants to the CBD COP-11, this event presents an excellent opportunity to develop partnerships to facilitate sharing of lessons-learnt, transfer of best practices, promote the mainstreaming of biodiversity and enhance the benefits for local governments and cities for investing in natural capital.
