Forest insect diversity is also an important component of the forest biodiversity. At most of the occasions, only plant biodiversity is discussed. Most of the workers have carried out the plant biodiversity work in different parts of India. Now a days, an emerging need and trend has been observed to study the insect diversity along with the forest plant diversity. With the global awakening on the climate change and its after effects on plant diversity, insect diversity has also been taken as important component of the studies on biodiversity. Structure of insect biodiversity has direct impact of change of climate and the climatic factors influence to the congregation, dispersal and shifting of population of insects. Thus the study of insect biodiversity is a vital component of environmental science, climate change and the holistic approach of biodiversity. Hence, the presentations, discussions are indeed required on forest insect diversity, during COP 11, so that an awakening can be developed towards the insect biodiversity.
