Eleventh meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 11)

PPV & FR Authority in association with the other stakeholders viz, with National Innovation Foundation, National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources(NBPGR), Indian Society of Plant Genetic Resources, National Seed Association of India (NSAI), New Delhi would like to organise side events on the themes “Protection of Rights of Farmer’s & Communities for livelihood” having powerpoint presentation on following activities:- a. Agro-biodiversity in relation to livelihood b. Community conservation efforts in India Protection of Farmer’s Rights for livelihood c. Individual conservation efforts by farmers The PPV & FR Authority during side events will highlights on conservation efforts by farmers individually and highlight their work. Different Agro-climatic Zone falling in the country in relation to Agro-biodiversity and Plant Genetic Resources. The Agro-biodiversity conserved by the farmers and community of the farmers and the different hot-spot are the major source of initial breeding material to the Plant Breeders of the different research institutes of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and Agricultural Universities (State Agriculture Universities and Central Agricultural University).
