While law plays an important role in implementing the Convention, the Strategic Plan on Biodiversity 2011-2020, and meeting the Aichi Biodiversity Targets, best practices drive effective implementation. This side-event showcases the multi-year program of work conducted by the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law (CISDL) on the implementation of the Convention in law, and focuses on highlighting impactful practices across jurisdictions to inform decision-makers and stakeholders on available options. Several publications on biodiversity law undertaken with the funding support of the Swiss FOEN, GLOBE International/World Future Council (WFC) and International Development Law Organisation (IDLO) will be launched and distributed at this event.
