The side-event will provide an overview of GEF’s investment to ensure sustainable financing of protected area systems worldwide and highlight protected area systems projects that demonstrate the successful application of financing mechanisms including Conservation Trust Funds, Payment for Ecosystem Services schemes, off-sets, and various other means for generating revenues.
