Meeting
Eighth Ordinary Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 8)

NGOs, the government and private sector will discuss experiences that focus on private lands conservation as an effective tool for biodiversity conservation in Latin America. Experts and practitioners will highlight how these experiences have been used to support the development of a regional vision for landscape-scale conservation, which includes strengthening public-private partnership and the use of economic and legal mechanisms to increase the number of hectares under protection, connect protected areas through buffers and corridors and engage communities in broader conservation efforts.
