Invitation to provide proposals on the post-2020 global biodiversity framework

Dear Madam/Sir,


During the first meeting of the Open-ended Working Group on the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework, Parties, other Governments, relevant organizations and stakeholders were invited by the
Working Group to submit to the Executive Secretary proposals on the structure of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework. In line with this request, I invite you to send your proposals to secretariat@cbd.int as soon as possible but no later than 15 September 2019. The proposals received will be made available on the post-2020 global biodiversity framework webpage at: https://www.cbd.int/conferences/post2020.

In addition, as announced by the Working Group Co-Chairs, the statements made by Parties and observers during the first meeting of the Open-ended Working Group on the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework will be made available on the above-mentioned webpage.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that views already received on the post-2020 global biodiversity framework are accessible at: https://www.cbd.int/conferences/post2020/submissions, and that two syntheses of the views received have been prepared as information documents for the first meeting of the Working Group. These syntheses, along with other documentation for the meeting, are
